Updated 3 November 2026. Ridable is a free map that shows where you can ride a bike in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and plans the safest legal route between two points.
Using the route advice
- Ridable builds its map from open data. Data can be out of date or wrong: a path can be closed, a crossing can be missing, a gate can be locked.
- Signs on the ground, the police and the local transport authority (RTA in Dubai, ITC in Abu Dhabi) always come first. Paths marked "bike access not confirmed" may be walking only; follow the signs there.
- Dubai law (Executive Council Resolution 13 of 2022) says to ride on RTA cycle lanes where there are any, never on roads with a limit over 60 km/h, and to walk your bike at pedestrian crossings. Abu Dhabi rules (Integrated Transport Centre) ban roads with a limit of 60 km/h or more, bridges and tunnels without a bike lane, sidewalks and walking tracks, and require a helmet. Ridable plans with these rules, but you are responsible for how and where you ride.
- You ride at your own risk. Ridable gives no guarantee that a route is safe, legal or open, and accepts no liability for loss or injury from using it.
- Do not use the phone while riding. Set up ride mode before you start, and stop to change anything.
What Ridable collects
| What | What happens to it |
|---|---|
| Your location | Used only on your phone, to start a route from where you are and to follow you in ride mode. It is never sent to Ridable or stored anywhere else. |
| Routes you plan | Calculated on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server. A route only leaves your phone if you copy or share its link. |
| Visits | Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, the page, the referring site, the browser type and the country. It uses no cookies and does not track you across sites. There are no ads and no other trackers. |
| Weather | The page asks Open-Meteo for the current temperature and UV index at the city centre. It sends no location of yours. |
| Hosting | The site is served by GitHub Pages, which keeps technical logs such as IP addresses for security, under the GitHub privacy statement. |
| Saved on your phone | Your browser keeps a copy of the map and routing data so Ridable works with a weak signal, plus small settings such as voice on or off. Clear them in your browser's site settings. |
| Problem reports | Sent by you from your own email app to hello@ridable.app. Used only to fix the map, and deleted when no longer needed. Your email address is not shared or used for marketing. |
Ridable has no accounts and sells no data.
